Your next steps

To help Berkeley staff get ready for their new job, there are some Next Steps "Checklists" which contain information they need and actions to take before their first day and beyond (things like setting up email, completing a W-4, setup payroll Diret Deposit, get your Cal 1 ID Card, and if eligible, signing up for Benefits in the first 31 days, just to name a few). Click on the applicable boxes below to see your list of things to do and/or review to get you started.

It is important to know that those who may be working remotely outside of CA or outside the U.S./abroad, should also review this important information about payroll, taxes and benefits

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Looking for a "printable" checklist version??  Use this link to a GoogleDoc version.

Most new employees can also expect to see a series of ten (10) "welcome emails" from Berkeley's People & Culture with valuable messages and details to help them begin their new journey at Berkeley!
