Re-envision Onboarding Project is underway

November 20, 2019

Business Process Management Office

The Business Process Management Office is currently leading a process improvement effort to re-envision the onboarding process for new employees on the UC Berkeley campus. The scope of the effort, called “Offer to Orient” or “O2O”, which includes the entire new employee experience, from receiving their offer letter, signing up and attending onboarding to complete their paperwork, obtaining systems and building access, as well as attending their Berkeley New Employee Reception and Orientation session. Some of the improvements will also encompass improving timelines, the DocuSign (online new employee paperwork) package, and remote onboarding.

This project is currently in the early, Implementation phase, where multiple workstream heads have been identified who will lead small teams in the development of various enhancements. Several of these project teams are already actively working on improvements, many of which are to be incorporated into a pilot in Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) SHARE Region beginning on January 2, 2020.

Ongoing progress announcements will come through the appropriate communication channels and posted on BRS and regional websites as the work continues now and into 2020.
