Bio/CV: 

Julia has over 15 years of higher education administrative management experience, with significant experience in the areas of research and sponsored programs and human resources. Before she began her tenure at UC Berkeley, Julia was the Interim Executive Director of the Research Grants Program Office (RGPO) at the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) during a protracted national search process. She oversaw the grantmaking process of approximately $125 million annually with a staff of 45 employees. Prior to that, Julia served as UCOP’s Director of Contracts and Grants for seven (7) years where she oversaw the research infrastructure for the UCOP-based grantmaking programs.

Julia began her career as the Executive Director for the Family Violence Law Center in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from the University of California at Davis, a Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law, and a Masters of Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco.

Julia’s experience in sponsored programs and the areas of financial and human resources management provide her with a solid background that will be beneficial for her Executive Director role for the ProS (Professional Schools) Region.
