Teal has served as a leader in higher education for over 15 years. She is currently the Executive Director of SHARE, Berkeley Regional Services, an organization that she helped to implement in 2018. Since founding SHARE, she led the design, governance and expansion of the HR Service Hub. First launched under Teal's leadership in 2021, the system has added new modules, functions and services, providing a unified platform for employee engagement with many HR teams across Berkeley Regional Services and People & Culture. She continues to help us adopt innovative solutions and develop our organization to respond to today's challenges.
Teal came to Berkeley in a systems role supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis organization. During her time directing the business intelligence team, she led the design, implementation and enhancement of core enterprise financial and reporting systems still in use today. These include Cal Answers, PI Portfolio and CalPlanning. Teal developed relationships with many people across campus in both academic and central functional teams, serving as a subject matter expert, collaborator and advisor.
Prior to Berkeley, Teal held progressively higher roles at Cal Poly Humboldt, beginning as a lecturer in the School of Business where she became the Administrative Support Coordinator, ultimately moving to the University Budget Office. In her capacity as a Senior Budget Analyst, she developed and maintained the campus position inventory and served on the Finance Committee. She authored finanicial reports, built interactive dashboards for leadership and co-authored three of the University's Annual Budget Books. These experiences ranging from lecturer to department management to University-level management gave Teal a broad perspective on stakeholder needs throughout the institution. She is adept at finding solutions to complex issues by bringing the right people together and facilitating a collaborative path forward.
Today, Teal continues to focus on innovation, organizational development, service management and leading others to achieve their full potential in support of our mission.
