Here is the background regarding how Tracker interfaces with UCPath:
Throughout the UC footprint, Tracker is the system of record for Form I-9s and UCPath is the system of record for HR.
-
An application programming interface (API) exists between these two systems, allowing them to talk to each other.
Each employee should have one (1) active Form I-9 and one (1) profile in Tracker.
-
Exceptions may be for employees hired on paper Form I-9s (prior to UCPath).
-
When a UCPath transaction is needed for these employees, the paper Form I-9 must be retrieved from personnel files to create the historical I-9 and profile in Tracker to interface with UCPath.
Examples for when a historical I-9 and/or profile in Tracker may be needed include:
-
Employee is moving between UCs (rehires/transfers).
-
Employee is being paid on a federal fund that requires E-Verify.
-
Employee has a change in work authorization that requires re-verification.
Beginning 7/1/23 HR Staff will no longer submit an inquiry to UCPC to request action related to Tracker I-9. Instead, HR Staff will send email to the Berkeley Tracker I-9 Administrator (ucbtrackeradm@berkeley.edu) about the action needed, providing the following details, at a minimum:
-
Employee First Name Last Name
-
Employee ID
-
Action: rehire, transfer, concurrent MLA
-
Effective date
-
Former/current UC
Berkeley Tracker I-9 Administrators will continue to support HR Staff by coordinating with other locations to request/transfer the Form I-9 and profile in Tracker as needed.
