The following is a summary of some helpful information that will help prepare the campus for any pay-impacting issues around the beginning of September as Berkeley begins the Fall Semester.

As announced previously, UCPath will experience system outages (aka "lockouts") when the next sister campuses (UC Davis, et all) go live in September. During conversion, the UCPath system will be down for all locations as noted below; this includes all inquiry and self-service functions:

A reminder that over the next several months, there will be planned UCPath system-wide lockouts when additional sister campuses (UC Davis and ANR (Agriculture and Natural Resources) cut over to UCPath. During these timeframes, there will be no access to UCPath (this includes inquiry and self service).

Editor’s note: The following CalMessage was sent to Berkeley faculty on July 18, 2019. It represents a collaborative team comprised of Berkeley Regional Services (BRS), Visiting Scholar and Postdoc Affairs (VSPA), the Berkeley International Office (BIO), UCPath and the VC Research Office who have developed a revised process for the timely collection of University Services fees for Visiting Scholars and Visiting Student Researchers. This change was required as critical system checks in the previous process could not be supported through UCPath without significant customization.

Note: As of May 2020, the campus has now transitioned most Reader/Tutors to CalTime. Typically, Lecturers who also hold a Reader/Tutor position would continue to use the Timekeeping App as well as other titles with unique circumstances on a case-by-case basis. For additional help, contact your respective BRS Regional HR Team.

The Vice Chancellor Administration (VCA) has just announced year end deadlines for FY18-19 and is available on the VCA website. This year’s closing steps mirror those in previous years for the  VCA divisions of Berkeley Regional Services (BRS), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Central Human Resources (CHR). Please review the information to ensure that all relevant steps are taken according to the schedule.

The fall semester will be here before we know it and Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) HR team(s) are working diligently to finalize Smartsheet updates and any needed process changes for the Fall 2019 ASE/GSR Hiring Processes. They are working on final details as they also continue to navigate UCPath implementation efforts.

What's not changing?

  • The overall process - Smartsheets will still be used to request ASE/GSR hires.

Supply Chain Management has announced that this weekend's UC Path implementation will impact all campus systems that use employee data, including BearBuy. As part of the cutover and conversion process, BearBuy will be unavailable on Friday, March 29th from 6:00am through Monday, April 1st 7:00am.
